The SCAR Minimalist Rail (SMR) brings improved ergonomics, reduced weight, and modern accessory support to the SCAR platform, now available for the SCAR 15P!Â
The ultra light SMR-7 is designed to be a low profile forend upgrade that extends by 0.5″ in front of the 15P receiver, providing additional grip space and minimal gap to a mounted suppressor. The 12:00 feature on the SMR-7 forend enables you to add on the modular RE-7 upper picatinny Receiver Extension.Â
More then just a MLOK rail, the SMR-7 kit includes 20 individual components which are designed to eliminate the side picatinny rails while providing the narrowest possible width for the 15P. Also available in the slightly shorter SMR-6 which is not compatible with the RE-7 Receiver Extension. Precision machined from 6061 & 7075 aluminum alloys and finished with a MIL-SPEC Type III hardcoat anodizing in either Black or Flat Dark Earth (FDE), make sure you review our Anodizing Disclaimer.

Due to the gas block being located inside the upper receiver, the 15P presents a unique design challenge to remove the side picatinny rails.
To solve this problem the Rego team has developed unique spacers for the 15P that are included with the SMR-6 and SMR-7 kits.
The SMR-6 and SMR-7 kits also includes new low profile stainless steel nutplates for securing of these spacers or our optional 15P receiver side grip panels.
While these unique 15P spacers don’t sit completely flush to the receiver like the Rego SMR kits for the 16S/17S, they protrude less than 1/16″, which still enables the ultra-narrow forend grip that all the Rego SMR kits are known for.
The SMR-7 is also compatible with the RE-7 upper picatinny receiver extension, the SMR-6 is not compatible with the RE-7.
**Note: The SMR-7 is not compatible with the OEM flash hider due to the distance it extends back over the barrel. Other aftermarket muzzle devices that extend back over the barrel (such as the Q Cherry Bomb) may require a shoulder ring and shims to clear the SMR-7. The shorter SMR-6 is compatible with both the OEM flash hider and all aftermarket muzzle devices without requiring a shoulder ring or additional shims.
