Anodizing Disclaimer

All of our SMR rails are MIL-A-8625 Type-III hardcoat anodized.

When compared with paints or baked on finishes such as Cerakote, Type-III hardcoat anodizing is a significantly more durable coating that is less prone to scratches and scrapes. However finishes such as Cerakote are much simpler to get the desired exact color match.

Due to the sensitivity of the chemical processes involved Type-III hardcoat anodizing is challenging to keep consistent to a single exact color. While we have worked through dozens of variations to arrive at the anodizing we have now there may still be some batch to batch variations in both Black and FDE colors.

We have done our best to represent the colors of the anodizing accurately, and it is an overall great match to the colors that can be found on the SCAR, but lighting and screen differences can greatly affect how the anodizing looks. Some of the anodizing variations that can be expected are shown in the pictures below and will include subtle hues of brown, khaki, or slightly gold. The SCAR receivers themselves have a wider color variation then our anodizing range so there is no way to guarantee our anodizing will be a perfect match for your SCAR.

If you believe your anodizing has a flaw please contact us at [email protected], but unfortunately disliking the anodizing color or hue is not a qualifying condition for a warranty return. As always, if you have any questions or concerns prior to placing an order please contact us!
